Give a Girl a Sword is an initiative started by Esfinges to encourage events intended to make it easier and more welcoming for women to join and get involved in HEMA. You can find more information about Esfinges on facebook, or their website, esfinges.net. The Esfinges (The Sphinxes) was born out of a need to assist women wanting to begin study of these arts so they can start practicing Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) and to bring female practitioners HEMA together.

Rebecca Glass is a longtime student of HEMA and will be joining L'Arte Della Bellica as we start a new club in New York City in the coming months. She is teaching a class at Black Wolf Historical Fencing called "From Worrier to Warrior" February 23rd. As part of the class, they will look at goal setting and coping strategies that can help you get through competition -- and help you in your daily life outside of HEMA.
